The popular music streaming platform Spotify has taken down at least 10,000 AI-generated songs from its platform in order to address the problem of artificial streaming. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has made an impact on many fields such as art, coding, design, and writing, and now it seems its impact on the music industry has been noticed by certain music streaming companies. Nowadays, Spotify is fighting against artificial streaming, which manipulates listener data, and AI-generated songs in a grand battle.

Spotify’s Harsh Removal of AI-Generated Songs Seem Justified

Financial Times state that Spotify has removed more than 10,000 songs from Boomy. Boomy is a service that allows AI-generated music to be developed or generated. Universal Music Group (UMG) Chief Digital Officer Michael Nash states that “We are always encouraged when we see our partners exercise vigilance in monitoring activity on their platforms.”

Universal Music Group (UMG) Asked Spotify to Remove its AI-Generated Songs

In the previous month, Universal Music Group (UMG) asked Spotify to remove its AI-generated songs that were generated from various copyrighted songs on the platform. This request came from Universal Music Group (UMG) because there is a rising amount of AI-generated songs that sound like they are unique and like popular artists. Many of these artists are not aware that their songs are used in creating new songs by artificial intelligence (AI) programs that are sometimes labeled as “original” pieces on the market.

BeInCrypto reports that a YouTube channel named 20syl uploaded a video with the name “AllttA-Savages”. In this video clip, some artists are rapping with the famous American rapper Jay-Z. Yet, Jay-Z did not take place in this clip with these certain artists, but the video was created using an AI-created algorithm to generate a similar voice that mostly sound like Jay-Z.
